Thor Mining seeks US$ 4 million to explore gold project
Thor Mining, a junior company that goes for gold in Western Australia, is seeking for US$ 4 million to help fund exploration and evaluation of the Dundas project and evaluation of new projects. The area lies east of the mining belt that includes the massive Kalgoorlie deposit and might host great surprises as the nearby discovery of a huge, 5-million ounce deposit at Anglo-Gold Ashanti’s Tropicana mine changed all that, sparking a new gold rush that's led to a number of other discoveries of economic potential.
The junior miner plans to make a public offer of more shares in the next months to raise the money. Thor’s chairman Mick Billing recently told a website that Dundas “is where investors will get a bang for their buck in the short term”.
