OGX updates estimative for shallow water block at the Campos Basin
Brazilian oil company OGX updated the estimative for the BM-C-41 block at the Campos Basin, which could host about 3.7 billion of barrels of technically recoverable oil, the biggest volume ever discovered in Brazilian shallow waters. OGX has just completed drilling at two wells in the field, which is fully owned by the company.
Two probes (Ocean Quest and Ocean Star) were used to update the estimative. The equipments were moved to the Santos Basin where will explore the shallow-water blocks BM-S-57 and BM-S-59. OGX has stakes at 29 blocks in five basins (Campos, Santos, Espírito Santo, Pará-Maranhão and Parnaíba) and plans to invest US$ 4 billion exploring these areas.
